Prior to obtaining your company’s services J.D. would not respond to his name, had extremely poor eye contact, flapped his hands when he got excited, tip toe walked, and put everything in his mouth. Wait! Let’s not forget we had to strap him in a high chair to contain him so we could feed him. In less than three months his eye contact is almost 100%, he responds to his name from any distance, he no longer flaps his hands, but claps when he is upset or happy. Furthermore, Candace taught us new techniques to extinguish the tip toe walking and mouthing which work with redirection and J.D. self corrects immediately on request. Additionally, I did not even mention that his language skills, what little he had, had ceased; Now due to the therapist working on phonics with him we are hearing the “mama”, “baba”, “gaga”, “mm”, “dada” and he says words that closely resemble the word we are requesting and these are the sounds we heard prior to his diagnosis.
