I initially got into the field of ABA in 2012 when my first child was born. I was originally taking undergraduate courses at FIU to become a nurse when I stumbled across an Intro to ABA course with Dr. Anibal Gutierrez (now of UM-CARD). That course, along with me becoming a brand new mom, inspired me to dive deeper into the field of ABA (I didn’t even know it was the most effective evidence-based treatment for children with Autism.. I just thought it would provide me with great tools in being a parent!). Fast forward a few years and I am now a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and FreshStart’s Clinical Director. I absolutely love what I do and am extremely passionate about ABA. Seeing  the Breakthroughs our clients and families have thanks to our effective treatment is a huge reinforcer for me.
