BIOGRAPHY

My name is Kristina Viñas, I am a BCBA with FreshStart(s). The world of ABA was introduced to me while working as a Pre-K teacher and Director of a preschool in Doral, Florida.  Every day, an RBT and BCBA would come to my class and work with one of my students.  Every day, the improvements were more and more visible.  Every day, I saw the progress and how much ABA helped enrich the life of my student.  The RBT and BCBA taught me techniques that would not only help him but also help all my students.  The information they provided me would change my life.  I knew I always wanted to work with children, to help them grow and learn more.  But there is only so much you can do with a classroom full of students.  The more I saw of ABA, the more I knew, I wanted to be a BCBA.  I knew I would be able to help each child individually with ABA more than I could ever help as a teacher.  Before the end of the school year, I enrolled at Florida Institute of Technology to begin the required course work towards accomplishing my new goal.  At first, I started working as an Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), to learn first hand all the techniques and interventions and applying what I’ve learned during one on one therapy with children from ages ranging from 2 to 14.  Currently, I provide in home, school and community support, parent training, protocol modification, working with RBT’s to ensure the client is provided the best services, and assisting fellow BCBAs with assessments and more. My experience is predominately with the younger children ages 2-6 year old teaching age and developmentally appropriate skills, behavior replacements, verbal behavior, and social skills.  My goal is to make an impact on the lives of every child and family I have the pleasure of working with.  To make sure that every child knows no limits.  Thanks to the help of FreshStar(s), I was able to achieve my goal of becoming a BCBA in June 2019.
